Roger Skrypczak knows how to draw us into a world of mystery! Emma’s Demise brings back all of our favorite characters from Tatum’s Alibi and Never Doubt Nadine, weaving them into a fresh tale steeped in the criminal element, while addressing some loose ends that desperately needed to be tied up. All of the puzzle pieces fall into place in the most fascinating way, with an ending that will make you gasp in surprise. Pick a comfortable chair and get ready to turn the pages through this well-rounded story of mystery, romance, humor and drama!

My life got in the way of me finishing this book in a timely manner. If I had been able to sit and read this would have been a book I couldn’t put down. You quickly get reconnected with the characters that you met earlier in the series. It’s like catching up with old friends and finding out what’s new! Masterfully written, with just enough twists and turns to keep you on your toes! Would recommend this book, as well as the others in the series!

Review of advance copy received from Author

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY READ "TATUM'S ALIBI and "NEVER DOUBT NADEEN" (and you SHOULD), then you fully realize this author knows how to pull you into the community and the lives of all the characters involved. So, I'm saying DO NOT PICK UP "EMMA'S DEMISE" unless you are prepared to travel deeper into the same world you will find in this book. If you enjoy intrigue and mystery, DO read this gem.

As I try to assemble my thoughts, I realize why this book is my favorite, as it pulled me completely into the mysterious and exciting life-like world these characters live in. Knowing some of the familiar names (towns, counties, people, etc) may have had something to do with it, too.

Many times I felt I knew what was coming next for Emma, and I was often wrong. The mystery continues and the several twists and turns near the end will NOT let you put this one down. Read it and enjoy the ride!

Patricia Lang EMMA'S DEMISE

Oh my! What a great addition to Roger's previous books, Tatum's Alibi and Never Doubt Nadine! Emma's Demise is full of suspense, thrilling moments, and unexpected twists. Emma is a femme fatale who is always a step ahead of law enforcement, and defense attorney, Mike Jorgenson, as she is on the run after being accused of multiple murders, fraud, and embezzling millions of dollars. They want to bring her to justice, but she is brilliant, beautiful, ruthless, and will do anything to escape. There are some themes that are not for young readers, but otherwise, this is a fun and suspenseful read. The characters are interesting and the storyline is very enjoyable. I was on the edge of my seat throughout. I enjoyed every minute reading this book and absolutely did not predict the ending! I highly recommend this book if you are a fan of legal thrillers, crime fiction, or mysteries!

NEVER DOUBT NADINE by Roger Skrypczak is a rollicking murder mystery that

will keep you guessing right up until the thrilling ending. The Wisconsin settings

and Midwest characters are brought to life with Skrypczak’s vivid details. The story

moves along with a crisp pace while the ticking clock adds delightful tension to this

roller coaster ride of a novel. Well done, Skrypczak.

Angelina Haibing NEVER DOUBT NADINE

It's the tale of Phil Bressler, once a dogged investigative journalist now enjoying

retirement. Yet, fate has a different plan. A story lands in his lap, one that's not only

intriguing but could potentially land him the prestigious Pulitzer Prize he's always

yearned for.

The drama unfolds around Nadine and Lester, a seemingly average couple thrown

into turmoil by Lester's fleeting indiscretion. However, the aftermath is anything

but ordinary as Lester finds himself entangled in a murder accusation of the very

woman he had a fling with. The plot thickens, drawing Phil and his wife Susan into

a web of mystery and suspense.

As Phil digs deeper, the reader is taken on a journey through the labyrinth of lies,

secrets, and betrayals. The characters are richly developed, each with their own

hidden motives and secrets. The question that keeps you hooked: Can you trust

Nadine?

Daniel Harper NEVER DOUBT NADINE

The whole setup with Nadine trying to clear her husband with the help of a judge is

unique and keeps you hooked. Roger Skrypczak has a way with words and pacing –

never too fast to lose you but always enough to keep the pages turning. The way he

introduces and develops characters is top-notch. If you’re into crime stories that

don't just entertain but also make you think, this one's for you.

As we navigate the twisted narratives through Phil Bressler's eyes, every

character becomes a puzzle. Skrypczak masterfully crafts a story where

trust is a rare commodity, making this a must-read for anyone who loves a

good puzzle wrapped in intrigue. A classic noir gem!

Julie A. Holcomb TATUM'S ALIBI

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful characters

Roger developed full characters that were lifelike, and I could relate to them.

Family support as shown in the book was wonderful to read. Combining a murder

mystery with a love story was fun to read.

Jennifer Kordish TATUM'S ALIBI

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Read, well written!

Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2024

This story was fun to read, and the characters were well developed. The details

given for the setting and characters were descriptive enough so that you were able

to identify with the characters and the situation in what they were going through.

The dialog between characters was easy to understand and read. I am reading his

second book; Never Doubt Nadine" and its being just as good as the first one. I

met Roger the author in WI at a book event and he was fun to meet and talk to

about his books. His enthusiasm and passion for his stories was great to experience

and I would recommend his books to anyone who loves a great murder mystery

with a nice love story mixed in.
